amores breves de metrô

I decided today to change my ways
Instead of a bus I got in a subway
Morning's over I'd soon sink into bed
That was all 'till something cracked inside my head

When I got to my station
Elis was our soundtrack
Such a sweet interruption
The sounds of your steps

I swear I already know your smell
It's like we were related
I mean well, look at our feet man
They're even coordinated

(...)

Well, yeah I can't dance with those two left feet
But I can see us moving correctly to the beat
There's no way out now, we're connected
No one ever had it, I swear, I stole their romantic crap

'Cause I can see us marrying, yeah
And having red head wise kids
Laughing at people's idiocy
'Cause we're better than 'em, I mean, we're you and me

(...)

I'd even let you mess my comics,
touch my stuff, as long as you kept me company.
If you only said hello.

like spinning plates

you set your saturdays on fire
your mondays and sundays too
you breathe in such a great life
while everyone breathes back to you

i stand a little tower of pisa
glued to bed from nine to five
i relive those same old lies
just so i keep my groove fine

but we used to be so alike, partners in crime
it's such a shame you had to go, i played my part
where've you been my friend while it all fell apart
it's such a shame you had to live, don't leave don't...

you used to cry every rehearsal
over your older sister's hard ways
i would hold you till you choke
then we'd laugh it all away

but now i stand still on the bed
every day like the same old wreckage
i'm packed to be shipped next morning
my guns're heading to your home

cause we used to be so alike, partners in crime
it's such a shame you had to go, i'll be alright
where've you been my friend while i fell apart
it's such a shame you'd have to go, now close your eyes

cause when you think you've had enough
brothers turn into enemies as the war begins
when you think you'll be strong enough
there'll be no road back to your old beliefs
they've gone away, you're free to breathe

well we used to be so alike, partners in crime
it's such a relieve you had to live, now goodbye
where've you been my friend while i remained fine
it's such a shame i couldn't leave before the fire started
